Gujarat State Electronics Mission
Overview
The Gujarat State Electronics Mission (GSEM) has been set up under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 and the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950. Gujarat State Electronics Mission (GSEM) is focused on creating a dynamic ecosystem for Electronics, Semiconductor, Display, Design, and Innovation. Its overarching goal is to position Gujarat as a national hub for Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM).
GSEM plays a pivotal role in propelling the progress and advancement of the electronics and semiconductor industries in Gujarat. It endeavours to attract investments, foster innovation, generate employment opportunities, and establish Gujarat as a preferred destination for electronics and semiconductor manufacturing. GSEM acts as a facilitator and catalyst for the growth of the electronics and semiconductor sector and plays a vital part in cultivating an environment conducive to investment and innovation.
Vision
- Create a conducive environment for the economic development of the state and for the growth of the electronics and semiconductor industry.
- Create employment opportunities in the state through electronics and semiconductor industries.
- Make Gujarat a preferred destination for global investors in the field of electronics and semiconductor.
- Identify, develop, facilitate, coordinate, establish, and monitor the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster(s) (EMC) at a place or places in the state.
- Formulate and implement incentive policies for the establishment of new electronics and semiconductor industries in the state and attract global investors.
- Promote ease of manufacturing by augmenting fiscal and non-fiscal support for electronics and semiconductor industries in the state.
- Enable active collaboration/partnership with stakeholders in ESDM/Semiconductor industries to enhance the availability of skilled manpower and to promote research, start-ups, or technological advances.
